An often asked question is “What projects are realized with CakePHP?”. As the wiki no longer exists (and with it the show case area where you could list your project(s)), I compiled a short list of projects which are in my opinion reference cake projects. Did I miss an important project?

It’s an image gallery management tool. The latest upgrade uses CakePHP. No demo available, but there are some screencasts linked to on that page.
Thanks Bryan!
I hope to write up a little case study soon on our switch to Cake, it was well worth it…
… and in spring 2007 there will be an other cool based in cakePHP. So watch out: http://www.tripsbytips.com
http://pewterreport.com/
https://www.futureheroes.org/
http://mariposa-gift.com/
Shameful opportunity for a plug! http://amoo.org is built with cakePHP. It’s a short URL thing like tinyurl, pretty simple, but took a while as I was learning both PHP and Cake at the same time. Was thinking of putting it on CakeForge, but want to clean up the code and add some more admin and anti-spam features first.
As an exercise so that I could improve my cakePHP knowledge, I built a system for a task-based manual of a content management system called txpmanual.
so here are a couple more, you be the judge of applicability
http://www.runningshopaz.com/
http://www.wingsbirds.com/
http://www.glicksmanlaw.com/
The french website http://ircube.org is developped with cake too.
Hey Daniel, I was thinking about doing such a list as well but you beat me to it ; ). Anyway, be sure to add http://www.pokerinside.com/ to the list ; ).
I used cake when developing:
http://www.sony.com/xplod
and
http://www.fantasylife.net
Thanks for including CheeseCake Photoblog in your list
We are currently working on a massive CakePHP project (250+ tables) with a team distributed over several timezones – I hope to get a permission from the client to showcase it once done.
2007 is going to be Year of CakePHP!!
And lastly this gives me an idea to compile a list of sites running CheeseCake :)
@all: Thanks for all the links, I will check them. Cool to see so many apps!
@Tarique: Wow, that sounds like a very big challenge. Not only on the cake side but also on the organizational side. Interesting. I hope you will write a case study when the project is done ;-) Anyway, good luck with that app!
@Mattc: I was very interested to see Sony using CakePHP, but got redirected to http://www.xplodsony.com which doesn’t seem to be built with CakePHP. Do you have a reference if Sony is currently using CakePHP? It is an interesting fact to know, since it helps promote Cake in some corporate environments.
There is also
http://firefoxparty.com
and some mozilla apps (don’t remember the links now).
they’re also doing the new addons page with Cake ;)
http://www.menumag.bg
but it’s in bulgarian :)

another shameless plug:
http://www.reaxmusic.com/
my first ‘big’ cake project; not 100% done, but I’m happy with where it’s at
That Cake-based Mozilla app would be http://addons.mozilla.org/
There seem to be plenty of online examples of CakePHP usage, but there is no open-source example of one these websites. I would like to see the code of some more complex CakePHP sites…
@Bart: Check out the source code of the bakery (http://cakeforge.org/projects/bakery) from the repository.
Did you guys notice that Blue State Digital appears to be using CakePHP for alot of their projects?
They are also suspected to be behind the my.barackobama.com social networking thingamajig that launched recently.
My first cakephp web site. I hope not last :)

This is a video on demand service for an educational network of Greek schools. This was my first cakephp app after considering many other frameworks. I now use cakephp regularly for work and expect much more from future versions. Please note that the actual development took less than 20 days of part-time work.
http://www.gr-navigator.com/
Not yet complete, this is my second cakephp app. It’s a google maps based application and i tried to use ajax almost everywhere. Uses cakephp 1.2.
@George: Thanks for your links.
More cakes this month:
http://www.4everyplace.com – basically an international version of a previous project

@George: Thanks for your comment!
Yes, using cake makes it (usually) easier to create websites, but there is still a lot of stuff you have to do yourself ;-)

@Debugged Interactive Designs: Thanks for the links! The colormagazine site looks a bit strange as I get a relatively huge white area below the navigation…
I rebuild this site on testing purposes with cakephp, and really gotta say great framework. Learning by doing…
