@STEFi: I'm sorry, but I don't have an answer to your questions as I don't use Joomla. Maybe you will have more luck in the CakePHP Google Group...

@Elkana: Yeah, it is an interesting combination, though I am not sure whether it still works with the current CakePHP release as Jake has been released 2.5 years ago... Anyway, just give it a try :)

@Daniel: No, I'm not aware of any updates. Your best bet is probably to look at the source and/or to contact the author of Jake.

Hope that helps!

We've set up a home for Jake:

http://dev.sypad.com/projects/jake

The project is on CakeForge and is about to reach its beta release. The new version includes (among other things):

1. No modification is needed to Joomla, CakePHP or your application.

2. Jake is installed in Joomla as a component (Joomla provides an administrator interface to install components), so is a one click install.

3. Configuration is absolutely simple, and you can run *any* number of CakePHP applications using Jake.

4. Your CakePHP applications can now when they are being executed through Jake (and as such do things like use a different layout) and even talk about to Jake using Jake callbacks!

5. And much more...

So check back soon and update your links. I'll be writing documentation this next couple of days, update source code and then release beta.
