Becoming an early riser is usually rather hard at the beginning. You feel sleepy if you get woken up by the alarm. It is a pain. But you get used to it, and after some time you don’t even need an alarm anymore, as you wake up automatically at that early time.
What can you do to avoid the initial pain? At least here in Europe we switch from summer time to winter time once per year (which was the case last night), i.e. the clocks are set back one hour. So if you want to become an early riser, you can take advantage of this: simply set back your alarm one hour, e.g. from 6:30 to 5:30. For your body there is no change as it is still used to the summer time, and so you won’t experience any negative effects (well, maybe your partner/parents/whoever may think you are crazy *g*).
Give it a try, I am sure you will like the quiet mornings and the probably higher productivity ;-)
Nice idea :D
The other way is to just not be weak :D
you’re crazy :-)
@gearb0x, Dieter: Thanks for your comments!
OK, I set the alarm clock back 1 hour, from 7am to 6am. But you know these technical things … this alarm clock did NOT get changed back to standard time automatically! So instead of sleeping 1 hour longer, I woke up at 5am! … :-D
@Helmut: The goal is not to sleep longer ;-)
