Vectorizing images
Some days ago Nik Chankov wrote an article about a service provided by the Stanford University called VectorMagic (with the move away from Stanford University the service is no longer free). It allows you to upload raster images (jpg, gif, png, bmp, and tiff) and converts them to vector images. Quite useful service!




Thanks for the tip. I tested it out on some logos and the results were really good… better than what Illustrator or Flash will produce without a lot of tweaking.
Vector Magic has officially moved away from Stanford and is operating independently at http://vectormagic.com
