I’d only rate it ‘fair.’ I find a the writing style a bit inconsistent – sometimes things are said plainly, and at other times he leaves out important non-obvious details. Also, there are a number of syntax errors in the code samples, and if you’re a newbie, you will struggle to figure out how to make things works. A healthy dose of Google has to be administered.

I recommand that book too, really better that Packt one (bought both of them).

No, ACL is not covered in the book. The Auth component is covered on a few pages, but not that in-depth.
